Barbara Ellison works with horses of all breeds, types, and levels of experience, focusing on developing correct training that builds strength, balance, and suppleness. She believes that when a horse learns to carry itself correctly, it not only performs more effectively but also enjoys a longer, healthier ridden career.

With a passion for helping both horses and riders reach their full potential, Barbara supports clients whether their goal is to hack out safely or progress towards higher ambitions. Her tailored approach ensures each partnership develops the skills and confidence needed to succeed.

Based at 22 Killybawn Road, Saintfield—just off the main Belfast–Downpatrick road—Barbara’s yard is easily accessible, with ample parking and turning for vehicles of all sizes.

Packages

I offer a range of training and coaching services from my base in Saintfield, with the flexibility to travel to clients when required. Riding lessons are delivered in one-hour sessions and can be tailored to suit riders of all levels. For horses, I provide training packages from short-term programmes to longer-term development, always designed around your individual requirements. My focus is on creating a bespoke partnership between horse and rider, ensuring you work together as a team and achieve your full potential.

In addition to riding and horse training, I also provide stable management lessons—ideal for new horse owners or those preparing for BHS exams. For riders and athletes alike, I offer sports psychology support, including group lectures and one-to-one sessions, helping you build confidence, focus, and resilience to perform at your best.
